The National Science Foundation's dream of building a continental-scale observatory that would monitor environmental change over decades is in trouble. The National Ecological Observatories Network (NEON), a unique string of 80-some data-collection stations spread from Alaska to Puerto Rico, is designed to bring ecology into the era of Big Data by collecting masses of information on changes in climate, land use, biodiversity, and the spread of invasive species. But NEON has suffered a series of self-inflicted and external wounds since construction began in 2011, resulting in project delays, a large projected cost overrun, and several changes in senior leadership. The Xiaomi Mi 5 sports a 5.15-inch 1080x1920 pixels display with curved 3D Ceramic glass, and a pixel density of 428ppi. The Mi 5 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. The Mi 5 packs a 3000mAh battery and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. The Mi 5 is the company's first to sport a physical home button that features an integrated fingerprint sensor. Mi 5 sports a 16-megapixel Sony IMX298 camera sensor with PDAF (phase detection autofocus) and LED flash. It uses phase detection autofocus and Deep Trench Isolation for faster focusing and more accurate colours. The Mi 5 sports a 4-Ultrapixel front camera, with 2-micron pixels.
